Al-Farouq Ajiede Aminu (born September 21, 1990 in Norcross, Georgia, United States) is an American basketball player for the New Orleans Hornets. His parents are Aboubakar Aminu and Anjirlic Aminu. A descendant from a line of Nigerian kings, his name Al-Farouq means "the chief has arrived." His brother is former Georgia Tech forward Alade Aminu. Aminu was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2010 NBA Draft with the 8th overall pick. |
