Emmanuel Mudiay was born on March 5, 1996 in Kinsasha, Zaire. It wasn't until his family moved to the US in 2002 when he found his new love for basketball. As a freshman, he attended Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington, Texas. Mudiay scored 16 points in the 2011 TAPPS Class 4A Finals and led his team to defeating the two-time champs. Mudiay transferred to Prime Prep Academy in Dallas, Texas with head coach Ray Forsett for his final seasons in high school winning the TCAL Prep Division championship. Standing at 6' 5", 200lbs, Emmanuel is considered the top high school prospect of 2014 and decided to sign a lucrative one-year contract to play professional basketball with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. He plans to return to the US for the 2015 NBA Draft where he is predicted to be the #1 overall pick by several experts.
